Australian study and training visas are designed for individuals who want to pursue education and training opportunities in Australia. These visas allow international students and trainees to study, train, and gain new skills in a wide range of courses and programs. Here are the main types of Australian study and training visas: 

This is the primary visa for international students who wish to study in Australia. It covers various levels of education, from primary and secondary school to vocational education and training (VET), higher education, and postgraduate studies. The Student Visa allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of your course.

This visa is for individuals who want to undertake workplace-based training to improve their skills in their current occupation, area of tertiary study, or field of expertise. It has three streams: Occupational Training, Professional Development, and Research Activities.

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution. It allows them to live, work, and study in Australia temporarily after completing their studies.

This visa is for parents or legal guardians of international students who are under 18 years of age and studying in Australia on a Student Visa.

Under this stream, researchers can undertake a research project, collaborate with Australian institutions, or participate in a research-based activity.

These visas were previously used for vocational education and training (VET), higher education, and postgraduate studies. However, as of July 1, 2016, they have been replaced by the streamlined Student Visa (Subclass 500).
